The long-awaited USA version of the British hit Who Do You Think You Are with Lisa Kudrow, Sarah Jessica Parker and Susan Sarandon originally advertised to be shown on NBC on April 20, has been postponed according the NBC Publicity Department in Burbank, CA . At this point there is no known date for airing.

White House taps University of Michigan's Robert Groves to lead the Census Bureau

Groves is an expert in statisical sampling-- which many Republicans oppose for the census.

Groves is a former Census Bureau associate director of statistical design, who served from 1990-92. He has spent decades researching ways to improve survey response rates. If confirmed by the Senate, he will take the helm less than a year before the decennial count, which has been beset by partisan bickering and will be used to apportion House seats and allocate billions in federal dollars.

Major Cemeteries of Calcutta, India, to be Digitized

I spent some time in India about four years ago and was impressed by the lack of cemeteries. As a genealogist, I was very aware that cremation is prevalent manner of disposing of bodies. In my time there, I saw exactly one cemetery. In fact, my companions and I stopped to look at it and it seems that most of the headstones listed European names.

Update: Plus Edition Web Site

I worked almost two straight days on the comments problem on the new EOGN Plus Edition web site but was unable to resolve the problem. The software producer's Tech Support department was also unable to help. I gave up and installed a different software product. I believe the problems are fixed. At least the comments work well for me in testing. I'd appreciate it if a few Plus Edition subscribers would test it also.

Fry Family's Inherited Cancer
