In 1988 the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution issued a series of booklets—one for each state—setting forth the names of American Indians and Black Americans who had been identified as veterans and patriots of the Revolutionary War. In 2001 all of the booklets were consolidated into a single updated volume. It has now been greatly expanded and reissued.

Archives Damaged in Italian Earthquake

It was only a few days ago when we all read the sad news of the Cologne, Germany city achives being badly damaged by a building collapse. Now the news services are full of stories about the tragic earthquake in the mountainous Abruzzo region of Italy. The first stories told of the terrible loss of life. Now we are hearing that priceless Italian monuments, historic buildings and works of art have been damaged or destroyed.

A Video Interview with Raymond Evans

I recently had a chance to talk with Raymond Evans, of Scotland's People. This government-owned web site has millions of Scottish birth, marriage and death records available online. The birth records are available from 1855 through 1907, marriage records are available from 1855 through 1953, and death records are available from 1855 through 1958. In most cases, the records are images of the original birth, death and death records starting in 1855.
